Cody HHV review

Absolutely love the helmet. It is damn near just as good as the team Wendy I ran in the marine corps. The only problem I have with it is I’m kind of in between sizes so no matter how tight I set it, it still will move around especially with nods. I don’t know if this is something that can be fixed with the mesh pads or not but other than that I love it.

Oldtimer's 1st helmet

I'm 51, in decent shape, can't run a marathon but can do most anything on days my body and I are in agreement. This was my 1st helmet, and I was excited to get it. I didn't know what to expect so I kept my expectations at bay. 1st impressions, the buying process, packaging and delivery were excellent, even a nice handwritten thank you.

I did go with the mid-range priced HHV made in the U.S. I bought a few accessories should the SHTF and have those nicely stored away (a HHV storage bag would be great). I love the way it looks; it took me some time over a few days to get the padding right; I do wish there were some type of instructions (or QR code) to reference. I got a package of parts and nothing more. I did figure it out, but basic directions would have been nice. Next was the weight. I wasn't prepared for the weight on my head. I put it on for 20 minutes and I got lightheaded and could feel the weight, LOL. So rather than moan like my old lady, the next day I wore it for 20 minutes, the next day 30 minutes, and today I just crossed over 60 minutes without issue. Bottom line, if you're not used to a helmet, there is an adjustment period to train your neck; again, some basic directions might be good here since HHV is selling to a lot of civilians. If I bought/added all the accessories that a good helmet has and I wasn’t trained to wear it, I can see some people being taken back.

After having this about a month and wearing it every few days, I really like this helmet and would recommend to anyone who asks for a quality American made helmet to look at HHV. Thanks boys!

Awesome helmet

Really great helmet from an awesome Texas based company! This helmet has very little differences from the ops core fast I used for years and I’m very happy with this purchase

Great helmet. Correct sizing. Quick shipping.

Chin strap retention system straps do not allow it to be tightened enough to hold securely on my head. Coworkers had the same issue when attempting to fit my helmet to their head.
