We are excited to finally offer our Micro Lattice helmet pads for tactical or ballistic helmets. These pads have been in development for years and through our partnership with Carbon® and their Digital Light Synthesis ™ manufacturing process we are able to create energy absorbing complex structures in a helmet pad that could never be manufactured before.

These micro lattice pads average single digit deformation numbers when tested to 1400 fps with 9mm projectiles on our ATE ballistic helmet (click for test data). Regardless of whether they are at -60 degrees or 160 degrees they still perform the same. This can not be said for standard foam pads

The Carbon DLS™ process enables lattice structures that absorb and dissipate energy through the precise tuning of strut thickness and cell size.

Purpose built, but not for me.

I was fortunate enough to get these pads for 25% off from a friend, because they made his helmet too tight. I never would have thought to buy them otherwise, because of the price. For a cheaper deal, I thought I'd try it. The pads feel scratchy on bare skin, it still does even after 6 months of daily use. The lattice is breaking down, I am starting to have loose ends of the lattice stick up, it does not affect comfort though. The amount of Velcro that comes with the pads is lacking, I had to scavenge and glue in more so the pads would stay in the helmet. I will say however, the padding will never create any pressure points and can allow you to wear your helmet all day without pain. It also stays super clean and never gets greasy or stinky. I think that these pads are indeed the best pads ever designed, but they are too expensive and break down too quickly. This is coming from a man deployed in a highly humid desert environment with a temperature range of 40 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

I have to say they are the most comfortable helmet pads I have ever put in my helmets that I had in my 16 years that I have been in the military. I wish I would have bought them sooner.
